RED FLAG ALERT - aZen
Welcome to Pincto's first Red Flag Alert. Congratulations to aZen!
aZen recently launched their TGE on May 8th, 2025. The lead-up included very little information and the time of listing was only announced less than a day before launch. No information was given to users about airdrop allocation. The only instructions given were to submit their UID and ETH receiving addresses in the aZen Hub app for a few different exchanges, but nothing else.
When the token launched, many users began complaining about a number of issues, primarily not being able to withdraw from the aZen Hub app, as well as some not receiving anything whatsoever. I was one of those who didn't receive anything at all. So I pressed to find out why.
A day later, a moderator finally replied to my question. It appears as though, despite running their DePIN Lite application for roughly 9 months, I was ineligible because I had not done any Twitter tasks in the last 30 days.
Well, that's a new one.
I say "appears" above because it is not totally clear. So, I reviewed the airdrop "instructions" they linked, and it is also unclear, though that is the only somewhat logical conclusion I can come to.
That's my part of the story, but it gets worse. Most of peoples' earned airdrop is apparently not available immediately. Some might be, but the rest (or all) is locked behind 2 options: Be active for 30 days (ie. Twitter tasks) to unlock, or stake to unlock. And to top it off, all of the tokens aren't even unlocked if you are active for 30 days. So, essentially they are forcing you to advertise for them to unlock the tokens you already earned, or requiring you to lock up your tokens in order to unlock them.
A standard vesting schedule would have been better than this haphazard approach, the lack of communication is what really drove the nail in, topped off by the immediate price dump on launch.
aZen is removed from Pincto's DePIN list and will no longer be shared. It is recommended to stay away, and certainly do not buy their $1000 hardware.
